As an Associate Lawyer, Nazia focuses on business immigration for corporate and individual clients, with respect to both temporary and permanent residence matters.
She has guided clients in relation to their Canadian inbound immigration needs, compliance requirements, and inadmissibility issues including eligibility for a temporary resident permit and criminal rehabilitation. She has assisted clients with applications for work authorization and employer compliance inspections under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program and International Mobility Program, with a focus on Labour Market Impact Assessments, Intra-Company Transferees, NAFTA professionals, and business visitors. She assists clients within various industries, including pharmaceuticals, information technology, engineering, manufacturing, and consulting.Her experience working within the Global Business Immigration at a national immigration service firm, serving a diverse clientele, has provided her with invaluable insight and a unique perspective in understanding the needs of global clients and has given her exposure to the immigration requirements of various countries outside North America.Prior to joining Niren & Associates, Nazia worked for the United Nations (UNICEF) in Vietnam on international child protection and human rights matters, and has worked at prominent legal and financial service firms in the United Kingdom and Germany.Nazia is a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario and is actively involved in community volunteer engagements, in the area of refugee law with local resettlement organizations. She is a Senior Editor for the CBA’s Canadian International Lawyers Journal and the UK Legal Issues Journal. She is also a member of the Canadian Bar Association, International Bar Association, and Toronto Lawyers Association. Nazia speaks English, Urdu, and Hindi.
